Lime Care is a digital health company focusing on providing telehealth, financing, knowledge sharing and public health analytics web and mobile products to patients in hospitals, clinics, healthcare centres and university systems in Ethiopia.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

Our digital health company is in immediate need of a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join our leadership team. We are looking for an MD with at least 5 years of clinical experience who is capable of handling a role that requires engaging with physicians, hospital administrators, health coordinators, government health officials, and other key stakeholders. The CMO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and lead the strategy for providing overall medical expertise and go-to-market business strategies throughout the sales cycle. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital health and has previous experience with creating, designing or strategizing telehealth solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide vision, leadership and governance of the telehealth strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with needs of the clients, patient and partner
  • Manage the provision of secure and stable digital services to support business outcomes through effective risk management strategies

Additional Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the pilot study design for all involved healthcare facilities.
  • Coordinate with clinical liaisons, medical providers and health administrators to manage pilot studies.
  • Collaborate with clinical liaisons and medical providers to obtain pilot study results in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Evaluate pilot study results, write reports and present findings to stakeholders
  • Develop, implement and maintain best practice change, people and financial management strategies and frameworks
  • Establish and maintain value-based stakeholder and strategic supplier relationships which meet business requirements.
  • Represent the voice of healthcare and patients inside a company
  • Enable the company to find product-market fit and solve real (not perceived) problems in healthcare
  • Work with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure the company meets regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that patient care and safety are a consistent company priority
  • Communicate with medical advisors, key opinion leaders and medical societies
  • Educate payers and other stakeholders in presentations on clinical utility of the digital health solutions
  • Ensure that the company is designing its products responsibly and ethically.
  • Provide technical and strategic direction to facilitate efficient clinical curation activities, including gene and drug review.
  • Utilize a systemic approach to problem solving, consensus building and process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Valid medical license and appropriate board certification required
  • 5+ years’ experience as practising physician or physician administrator
  • Extensive experience working with payers, PBM’s or ACO’s desired
  • Strong employee development skills
  • Previous experience managing staff is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to synthesise medical information clearly.
  • Ability to work in a start -up environment at a fast pace
  • Must fluently speak Amharic and English

Schedule and Hours

  • This position will require the ability to work Monday – Friday 9AM to 5PM and flexibility to be on-call as needed.
  • Work will be on-site
  • There may be travel required in the future.
