Lime Care

Quality of Life

We enable healthcare providers to extend care through our telehealth and remote patient monitoring platform. This closes the time lapse between appointments so that ongoing concerns can be evaluated, and any new developments can be pinpointed earlier. This is a key part of integrating care and increasing quality of life for patients.

Why Ethiopia?

Ethiopia’s healthcare system has made significant strides in recent years, reflected in an average life expectancy of 66.6 years (men: 64.5 years, women: 68.5 years) as of 2019 (WHO). Despite this progress, the nation grapples with challenges like healthcare provider shortages, financing hurdles, and healthcare data management. With a growing population expected to double from 120 to 240 million people by 2050, these issues take on even greater importance. Lime Care is dedicated to being a driving force in the positive transformation of Ethiopian healthcare, leveraging our expertise to contribute meaningfully to these crucial areas.

Navigating Ethiopia's Healthcare Landscape

In Ethiopia, the healthcare sector faces significant challenges stemming from a shortage of medical professionals due to funding gaps in education, training, and career migration. This has led to extended wait times for patients seeking vital treatments.
Ethiopia’s healthcare landscape faces a scarcity of medical professionals due to limited funding for education and career migration. This leads to extended wait times for patient treatment. Furthermore, digital health technologies adoption among medical professionals in the country remains uneven.

Ethiopia’s medical industry encounters delays in embracing digital data management. This slow digitization affects all healthcare institutions, with numerous hospitals struggling to implement Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and digital solutions due to their complexities.

Insufficient financing and investments have left public hospitals in Ethiopia understaffed for medical emergencies. Patients are often forced to seek treatment in private hospitals, which can be financially out of reach for many.
