Lime Care is a digital health company focusing on providing telehealth, flexible and sustainable financing, knowledge sharing and public health analytics web and mobile products to patients in hospitals, clinics, healthcare centres and university systems in Ethiopia and other countries with emerging healthcare systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Lime Care is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer. This position oversees the compliance of our web and software products in accordance with the laws and regulations set by the Government of Ethiopia, Ministry of Health in addition to any requirements by local agencies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of Pilot studies and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Manage day-to-day operations of the program.
  • Develop, review and update the code of content to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.
  • Collaborate with Chief Medical Officer, internal attorneys, clinical liaisons, healthcare providers (in hospitals and healthcare centers), healthcare administors and government officials in order ensure legal compliance of pilot studies and subsequent full roll out digital health solutions.
  • Consult with internal and healthcare facility attorneys as needed to resolve legal compliance issues.
  • Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Assist in the development of and monitor systems for uniform handling of such violations across the multiple administrative venues.
  • Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance Issues and concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; direct the development and implementation of corrective action plans by line authorities for resolution of problematic issues; and provide general guidance on how to avoid or mitigate similar situations in the future.
  • Assure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
  • Monitor the performance of the designated compliance protocol and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Health Policy, Business, Health Care Administration, Accounting/Finance, Law or a related field required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Healthcare leadership, Health System Operations, Health Care Compliance, Auditing, Consulting, Legal Operations or Financial Management required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, initiative, self-motivation, practical learning skills, enthusiasm and an ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Experience in public speaking, business presentations, meeting management and business correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential and/or sensitive corporate information.
  • Extensive experience and adaptability as to computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve complex operational issues in healthcare setting
  • Must be fluent in English; fluency in Amharic preferred but not required
  • Must be an Ethiopian citizen

Schedule and Hours​

  • This position will require the ability to work Monday – Friday 9AM to 5PM and flexibility to be on-call as needed.
  • Work will be on-site
  • There may be travel required in the future.
